Macey {One Year Older}

Macey was kind of bummed to spend her birthday at a reunion, but hopefully it wasn't too bad.  We got her a giant cookie for a cake and then one of my mom's cousins found out Friday night that Saturday was her birthday and she went home and made her a cake and brought it to her on Saturday,  That was so nice of her and I know Macey loved getting the attention onher birthday.  That same cousin (actually my moms cousins wife but we are all family now:)) made Macey one of those knotted friendship bracelets with a little heart charm that said peace on it.
When we got back to Bear Lake everyone sang to her with the brownies for dessert.

Fun Filled Friday

What boy, men, cousin, uncle gathering would be complete without a DS tournament?
That's how the boys spent the morning after breakfast and then they headed to the lake for some boat and beach time.

Later in the afternoon we packed up and headed to my family reunion down in Huntsville, UT.  As soon as we got there there was swimming at the rock house so it's just fitting that the diving board is also rock.

Then it was off to dinner and the zip line.  I snapped a few pics before it got too dark.  The kids loved it and luckily no one got hurt!

Sparkler Fun

In good Bear Lake tradition we got the kids some sparklers.

Light Show

For a few days before we headed to Bear Lake we stayed at the Watson's (Scott's sister's in-laws)grandma's house and she gave all of the kids these little colored lights that can strap on your finger.  The kids had a hay day and of course had to make a show with them-that's these cousins-always making shows.  To our surprise their show was kind of cool and neat to watch.  We really enjoyed the Utah summer evenings that cool off perfectly even if it doesn't get dark until 10pm.  I don't know what happened to the video of the show, but I will post it when I find it.

Kenecott Copper Mine

While we were in Utah we took the kids to tour the copper mine.  It is one of the 2 man made things that can be seen from space, the other being the Great Wall of China.  It's a huge mine and so it is fitting that the tires are huge!  Even after seeing the tire and looking down at the trucks they still didn't believe those tires were that big.
It was neat to see.  I had fun explaining to my kids that this is what Grandpa Phillips did as a job my whole life growing up.  Tate loved all of the big trucks of course.

Our Family 7-25-2010

Since we were all dressed up in our Sunday best I took the opprotunity to get some family pics, much to the dismay of the rest of the family.

(I believe this started with one of the kids looking off the wrong way and then Scott thought it would be funny to have everyone look a different way-you can see me looking down thinking this is so dumb)

This was also Grandma Phillips birthday.

Little Cousin Friends

Claire loves her cousin Ally.  They play really well together and rarely fight.  Hopefully that continues and they can be great friends.  Here are some pictures of them on the first day of our Utah vacation.  It was a nice Sunday afternoon and they did just about everything short of swimming.  It was fun to sit off in the shade and watch them playing, saying "switch" and taking turn in the bucket.
