A Day on the Farm

Tate's preschool class took a field trip to a local dairy farm and we learned a ton of stuff about the process of getting milk from the cow to the store shelves.
 Tate's dream come true...playing on a tractor....

 Feeding the horse.  Tate wanted nothing to do with feeding the animals he was stuck on going on the hay ride.  The "farmer" kept trying to make Tate do it but he held firm, there was no way Tate was feeding the animals and the guy called Tate a grump.  Tate was kind of being a grump, but come on he's 5.
 It was the day before Thanksgiving and this guy was nervous...
We tried enjoyed flavored milk and we did enjoy some home made ice cream.  NIce little trip for the kids, but boy did it reinforce buying organic milk:)

Claire Had a Birthday!

Claire barely qualifies as a toddler anymore, but she is definitely our baby!
She's 3!
She is talking more and more every day and saying the funniest things.  The other day she informed me that Tate is on the naughty list.  That had me laughing because she used it appropriately and everything because Tate was not doing what he was supposed to be doing.

Claire picked this cupcake herself and had to show it to everyone as it waited in the fridge.

 Can you hurry up and sing already....

 Cheese face...

 Again with the cheese face and the tilted head and all...

We all love Claire around here.  She is the easiest little kid.  She is every one's baby and that pushes her into the spoiled category.  Her best friend during the day is Tate (does she really have another choice?).  She just plays whatever he is playing.  But when the kids are home she loves "Cici" aka Macey.  She sleeps on Macey's bed with her and Macey is always so good to take care of her.  I don't even know how many times Macey has had to deal with her in the night and I don't even know.

We love you Claire, your growing up, but you will always be the baby!

Emmy Had a Birthday!

Our "little" big 9 year old!

Emmy is a low maintenance easy to please daughter and I love that about her.  Just yesterday at Emmy's class Christmas party (ya I'm behind) they had an auction where every kid had 3.82 to spend and Emmy spent $3 and bought only one thing, a Dora book for Claire who was there with me.  She is so sweet natured and thinks of others before herself.

She is very talented in gymnastics.  I just love watching her doing all of the things I always wished I could do but I'm such a chicken I realize I probably never could have done it as well as she does.  I often get teary eyed just watching.  I just {love} it and so does she-when given the choice between gym or shopping she picks gym!

Emmy is....how do I say it?......easily distracted.  Whenever she is supposed to be doing something (ie homework or chores) she easily finds something else to do.  Watch TV, dance around doing all sorts of gymnastics, stare at the wall, play with Claire, anything but what she is supposed to do.  I suppose I am hoping gymnastics will also help with discipline in this area.

We love our "little" Emmy around here and sad to see her growing up!

Tate & Claire Miscellaneous

Of course I can't remember, but I vaguely remember Tate and Claire making me take these pictures of them out front of our house dirty faces and all....

Emmy's State Competition

On November 13th Emmy had her state competition for gymnastics.  She had been training for it for a long time and was ready!  I was super nervous and excited and I am sure she was as well.  She was the last of our kids to get the cough and fever that week so we were nervous she would not be well for the competition, but I think all of her "exercise" kicked it out of her system extremely fast and she was on the mend.

She had a solid competition and had a better overall score than she had at any other meet this season so we were happy with it!

Vault      9.25    {10th place}
Bars       9.325  {2nd place}
Beam     9.35    {3rd place}
Floor      8.575  {no place}
Overall    36.5    {5th place}

Note to self: Phone only videos in the upright position.  So, if you really want to see her performance you can watch these videos sideways:)

Girls Night Out

It was a Saturday, nothing was going on and I was itching to get out, Scott, not so much.  So, the girls and I went out for some Serranos for some salsa and bean dip-yum!
Then we made a stop at the Dollar Store to see what treasures we could find....

Halloween {2010}

Whew!  What happened to November?  What else to do besides blog on a cold rainy day....

1st off:  Halloween Festivities

Tate had a Halloween party at preschool and had a great time!  He is the one with the Star Wars character costume.  He was super excited about it...

                                                {Ms. Shelly} we love her!
Then there was the ward trunk or treat....
 Our little Dora...
