Fishing Rocks & Fish

We had originally planned on leaving this day but the weather was too fabulous to leave and we weren't quite ready for the drive yet since we had 2 sick kids.  So, Scott arranged some things and we were able to stay-fabulous!  Macey and Tate were sick almost the whole time we were at Bear Lake.  Macey was really groggy and feverish.  Once the Ibuprofen would wear out she was down again.  Tate had a similar thing only his included throwing up, of course.  I used almost a whole brand new larger bottle of Ibuprofen on this trip.  Bummer, but it actually wasn't too bad since we had just basically planned to sit around and relax.

These are pictures of the kids doing two things.  One day they were paid by Scott to move the rocks out of the way.  The water has not been this high at Bear Lak in over 10 years and there were some sharp rocks right where we wanted to walk and play.  The other pics were of the kids "fishing" the tiny fish with their buckets.

Jaunito Bandito

This year at Bear Lake was different than any other year we have been, since none of Scott's other family was there, so we had the place to ourselves.  A totally different experience.  I invited my family to come up if they wanted to since they were already basically there and they were able to enjoy it for a few days.

Waiting for the funnies melodrama to start.  "Who shot Jaunito Bandito".  Seriously one of the funniest things I have ever seen.  I laughed the w.h.o.l.e time.  Clean, genius humor.  So, glad we decided to go see it.

Reunion Day 2

The morning consisted of breakfast and some relay games an stations....

 This relay was hilarious....

 Everyone holding their crickets for the criscket races...

After this race Emmy threw a cricket on me!  I thought she was joking until I felt it in my hair. GAsp!  She's lucky she ran.

Then it was time for the finale to the games...the water games....

My grandma and 2 of her sisters...
 Tate and Brigham.  Tate just loves him and he is so tolerant of his little shadow Tate.  {so sweet}...
But back to the water games...There were several relays and it was lots of fun, but the finale was the BEST!  All of the "original 8" were supposed to perform or have a designated person perform a dive off of the high dive/cliff thing into the pool.  They were all so hilarious involving full cowboy gear, scarfs, etc. but this one takes the cake (even if it was for my grandma is what the funniest-I was crying)...
Trying to orchestrate a family pic before everyone left (just my mom's family)....

Then we packed up and drove up to Bear Lake.  Running across some SNOW, of course we had to pull over and touch it to believe it!  They said there were still skiing on 4th of July!

We also saw tons of deer on our way thru the corner of Wyoming, luckily we did not hit any since it was so dark, it was raining and Scott's windshield was so dirty I couldn't see a thing.  PHew!

Reunion Day 1

Since it was our family's turn(my moms) to be in charge of the McKay reunion this year I didn't get many pictures.  This was the only one from Friday of some of the group off for the horse ride.  I did not go on the horse ride although I did help get them off, my sister and I headed to Costco instead.  The ride ended up being about 20 horses and hours long.  Good Ole Huntsville.

There was a great (if I do say so myself) program that night that involved a secret video and birthday cake for my grandma's birthday that was earlier that week.

Great night.

Driving to Utah

On day 2 of our driving to Utah (we can never make it in one day) we came across this place that said fishing and a zipline so we pulled over to check it out.  They had a bird there that you could hold and he was super friendly so anyone that wanted to held it.  I don't really like birds but this one seemed like it could be fun (no, no birds in our future uh uh).  I guess the place was still kind of under construction so the zipline wasn't ready but it looked like it was going to be really awesome.  We toyed with the idea of fishing but then we decided we should just be on our way.  Nice pit stop.

 Turns out they had shaved ice too!
Sadly, shortly after we got back on the road Tate started to throw up his Tiger's blood shaved ice.  Luckily the large ziploc bags saved the day, but Tate still says that Tigers Blood makes him sick.

Swimteam

The girls did swim team this summer for the first time and didn't cry and quit so that's a start:).  They said they wanted to do it again the next summer!  They had an end of the season party and they had these cute pirate cookies since they were the pirates.

A Globe {4th}

After a rain delay, fun with family and friends in the Safeway parking lot, "lovely" small town updates on the radio (seriously they were hilarious) the fireworks show finally went on!  We love it!  It was great as usual!  There was water damage on the roads and we were worried about being able to get home but it all worked out!  {Good Times}
