Another thing I saw on pinterest and wanted to re-create.  I didn't want to think about it too much or come up with anything much different, just copy it.

Preschool performance

Claire's preschool group met at the park to have a snack, play and perform a song they had been working on for us.  They were nice enough to sing happy birthday to Claire since her birthday was coming up that weekend.

Emmy's {10}

Emmy turned {10}. 

At 10 Emmy...

-likes to play with her friends

-hates being so small

-is super picky about her clothes and likes to be in style and do her hair

-she is great at coming up with games to get her younger brother and sister to do things (like clean their room)

-is learning to braid and do hair

-Does well in school

-Is a great helper to all of those around her

-is extremely sensitive and aware of others and their feelings

 

In the morning we went and got donuts so she could take them to her class that day.

 

We took Emmy to dinner for her birthday at a place of her choosing and she chose Chick-Fil-a where it was also her school fundraiser night there.

The we took her shopping at Kohl's to pick out a new Sunday dress.  Then it was back home to have cake and ice cream and open her other presents.

This cat and it's sibling also came to our house for the night.  Against my wishes, Scott brought them home "just for the kids to play with".  Luckily for me they were not friendly and basically wild.  Before we even left for dinner one was hiding under the couch and not coming out.  By the time we came home the other one had gotten in the corner empty space in our cupboards through a hole underneath.  I was tired and had to go to bed with the cat still in the cupboards but we had gotten the one out from under the couch.  Scott was under strict instructions to take them with him when  he left in the morning.

Phillips Thanksgiving 2011

In order to be able to fully consume the Phillips Thanksgiving dinner we held it on Sunday this year so that we only had to eat one huge meal that day!  It was great!

Baby Gift

I have missed my crafting time.  I just haven't made the time or had a strong enough desire to make time.  I am not sure which it is, but I saw this idea on Pinterest and decided and I wanted to recreate it for my SIL's baby shower (deadline people. that's what I need to be productive).

Of course I couldn't just do it the simple way.  I had to make it complicated and do it with freezer paper stencil instead.  They turned out cute, but they would have been just as cute using the iron ons like the tutorial suggested.

This was the only picture I took of the process and I forgot to take a picture of them all rolled up in the box like the one from the website.  Hopefully they are useful to my SIL!

TOFW 2011

Time out for Women 2011 was wonderful!  Great friends and a great time!

Hilary Weeks was the music entertainment on Saturday.  She was fabulous!  Her music and songs were great and her little insights were just as fabulous if not better.  One of the things that I enjoyed was her "clicker" experiment.  She talked about a little clicker she got to keep track of how many negative thoughts she had in a week in order to realize and hopefully improve her thoughts.  She felt terrible and grumpy at the end of the week and she realized it was because her focus was on negative things.  So the next week she switched it up and counted the positive thoughts she had.  She talked about how it kept it on her mind to be kind and positive and find reasons to be positive.  That we need to focus on positive things.

 I am glad my friend Erin was able to come for the first time!

 Becky and I have turned into regulars hahaha.
