It Finally Happened
I knew it would. I was sitting at the table eating dinner with my back to the kids eating at the bar. Macey says, "Kenny says that Santa is not real" and then goes on to explain the bet he put on it. Scott was to my right facing 1/2 towards the TV and 1/2 towards the kids and did not hear her, but I had a smirk of {oh no} on my face. I mean what are we supposed to do with all of the other kids as an audience? Ruin it for them? I really wanted to just bust out and say "ok he's not real and we're poor so don't be upset with what you get for Christmas". I wanted to do that so bad. Really they will not be disappointed because they are getting plenty and do not understand the value of things in dollars yet. Whew. Instead I say," Isn't that the naughty kid in your class?" (his own mom actually admits it). Then Scott catches on to what is going on and throws in,"Does everyone believe in Jesus?" OOOH he is good. Although he is lying in the same sentence. Hmmmm. So crisis averted for now, but I am sure this will be the last year they will believe. I am not actually that sad about it, you know how I am about reality and all. Keepin' it real. This may also be the first year they snoop and see their presents then confirming the identity of Santa.
Cheaper than Milk
With my mounting $.10 rewards from Fry's I got gas for $1.65 a gallon today! Just documenting it so when my kids are paying $4 a gallon I show them what it once was.

Ahhh!
Feeling good with the Christmas Letter printing as we speak, pictures taken for the Christmas card and finishing up Christmas shopping on Saturday (missed the end of November goal by a week, but still looking good). With a newborn baby last year I scrapped the Christmas card, but I am excited to get one out this year and not be rushed doing it. I think I have turned a new leaf. Procrastination is not for me any more. Like Nike says...

Two Thanksgivings
We started with Thanksgiving lunch at the Williamson's home. There was some rock band...
Kids playing outside and one ending up in the pond (thank goodness it wasn't mine)
Then it was a Thankgiving dinner with the Phillips.

Scott's usual tongue picture...
As we were looking at the ads I realized that Michaels was open Thanksgiving night from 6-9pm. So where did I go? Yep my sister Shannon and I went shopping. I knew I was not getting out to shop the next day so I was happy with that.

With Christmas around the corner it was the perfect weekend to get some Christmas crafts done. So all the girls got together. To see what I created see my crafty blog.

I forgot my camera so instead I got Kim Skinner's photography which is better anyways!

Overall a great Thanksgiving weekend!

The weekend before Thanksgiving we had a "birthday weekend" celebrating Emmy's 7th Birthday and Claire's first birthday. Unfortunately for them, I am sure their birthdays will always blur together. With these birthdays they both reached a milestone....
Claire is a forward facing toddler now! I tried to get a snapshot of her cute smile that I get from her every time I turn around, but instead I got this blurry picture. Maybe I shouldn't have done it while I was driving?!?!?

She actually opened most of her presents herself and really enjoyed them!

Emmy is SEVEN!
Her birthday was actually Friday so I brought her some Burger King for lunch at school and then we had cupcakes in her class.

The man at the rock wall weighed her and said she was 40lbs. and that is official enough for me!
Claire's ONE! It went so fast and she keeps growing up so quickly.
She was in shock with all of the attention during the singing, but afterwards she did happily dig into her cupcake!

I took her and Macey to go see Highschool Musical 3 which we loved! And then we met Scott, Tate and Claire at Chuck E. Cheese for some pizza and play.

Emmy was outfitted with a fish tank and all of the fixins for her birthday. The things that are still surviving are: a black goldfish looking fish, a frog, a sucker fish, a snail, and a little baby fish or two from some of the other fish that are long gone. We will get it right one of these times, but who know how many fish will have to sacrifice their lives until then.
Claire Right Now:
- She has been walking for about a month now
- I call her a little "fit thrower" because she definately throws fits with the full on back arching and throwing herself on the ground. I know it seems a little early for this doesn't it?
- She is a climber. She likes to climb everything especially the ladder up to Emmy's top bunk.
- She says "da da" when she sees Scott
- She reaches her arms out and twists her hands with the palms up when she wants something
- Finally sleeping all night about 13 hours with one nap during the day
- As independent as a one year old can be
Emmy Right Now:
- She is quickly learning to read
- Her teacher rants and raves how good she is and what a great help she is to her
- She is really strong and can climb anything
- She has a great disposition and adjusts to change very well
- If she has to, she does not get up in the morning without lots of prodding. However, when she can sleep in, she wakes up before I do.
- She is still a little peanut and wears out her clothes before she grows out of them
- She is little, but do not be fooled, she has a big personality
